studio sale and open house this sunday

Happy Fall Everyone! It seems it is officially here. And it's been a beautiful one.

This Sunday, October 27th from Noon-5pm myself, SKT Ceramics (www.sktceramics.com) & Kenjiro Kitade (www.kenjirokitade.com) are having a an open house/studio sale.

I'll have T-Shirts, samples, seconds and discontinued work, all priced to go go go. In January I'm moving to a new studio and don't want to take it all with me! (Heat & air conditioning here I come).

Come and say Hello, see the studio- it's a beautiful dusty old printing warehouse building that is very loved by it's owner and all it's renters.

Susannah will have demo's and silkscreening of her beautifully detailed animal drawings….Kenjiro makes amazing sculptural work with skill that I wish I had.

Address: 76 Ainslie Street Brooklyn NY 11211. One block from the Lorimer stop on the L Train.

Thanks! Email me if you need directions.

Hope you and your loved ones are well.
Michele

Thank You Teachers!

The Super Green Eco Team wanted to thank the teachers who brought their classes to our first ever do-it-yourself Earth Week. So... we bought a water.org water bottle for each teacher who brought their class to Earth Week.

Thanks K-203

Thanks Mrs. Michael and Ms. Milne

PS40 PreK helps out

I just found out that Ms. Lahee and her morning and afternoon PreK classes have been watering the roof garden everyday! I was wondering who was doing that.

THANK YOU!

Water is not only the Earth Week topic, but the biggest challenge for the roof garden, as there is no water source on the roof. It seems Ms. Lahee and her classes, the people who most frequent the roof, have taken on the task and we can not be more grateful. Yeah!

The ROOF GARDEN Lives!

Thanks to the hard work of PS40 parents, Barbara and Cecile, the Roof Garden is not only alive, but thriving!

It's worth a hike up the 4 flights of stairs to the roof to check it out. These pictures don't do it justice.

Of course, we also need help. Water is the theme for the year and the biggest issue for the Roof Garden.

There is no water source on the roof other than rain.

Our fabulous rain barrel has not captured enough water for the garden, even though it seemed to rain forever for a while.
We sent out flyers looking for help and we brain stormed.
A very helpful PS40 parent recommended a person who's job it is, is to maximize the rain that can be caught on a roof.
His name is Chris and we are very optimistic. His company is called SwissScape. We will post more as he progresses.
